Why does the dial read 0, even when I am moving?
TripAlyizer must obtain a GPS signal before it can begin its analysis. This is the case with any GPS-enabled device, and the iPhone is no different.
How long does it take to lock onto a GPS signal?
The length of time it takes to lock onto a signal varies. Typically, it can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes.
How is the efficiency percentage determined?
TripAlyizer calculates your trip efficiency by measuring your average rate of acceleration, total idle time, total number of stops, speed, and total time spent in your vehicle’s "sweet spot." Based on these values, TripAlyizer calculates a percentage for the trip.
Can I use TripAlyizer for short distances?
Yes, you can use TripAlyizer for both short and long trips.
How much can I save on gas with TripAlyizer?
You can save anywhere from 20 to 30% on gas costs by simply changing your driving habits and paying attention to traffic rules.
How does TripAlyizer calculate CO2?
Each vehicle’s CO2 emissions vary. What TripAlyizer does is calculate the estimated CO2 emissions based on your car’s size, either small, medium or large. For small cars, the average emissions are 0.57, for medium they 1.57, and for large they are 2.1.
Can TripAlyizer handle metric and USA measurements?
TripAlyizer can now calculate (USA) mpg or km/l. TripAlyizer also supports costs in pounds, Euros and dollars.
How do I export data?
You can export log and fill-up data via email by clicking on the Export Data cell in the respective table’s information section. Keep in mind that because TripAlyizer uses the iPhone’s mail client for the export function, TripAlyizer will shut down.
Can I use TripAlyizer as a mile logger?
Yes. You can use TripAlyizer to record and log all of your trip miles. TripAlyizer makes it easy by recording the miles or kilometers for each trip. TripAlyizer also updates the odometer reading entered under the vehicle details page after every trip.
Can I turn Audio off?
Yes. You can turn off text-to-speech by switching Audio to off.
How is my speed calculated?
TripAlyizer uses the GPS hardware in the iPhone to calculate your speed and determine your heading. As a result, the phone must have a clear view of the sky to provide best results. Great effort has been made to filter out the data as much as possible to best estimate your speed.
From all our tests, TripAlyizer can calculate your speed to ±3mph. By adjusting the sensitivity setting, you can either increase or reduce fluctuations in speed readings.
